Day 14

So I watched "Drag me to Hell" last night because I lost a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.... Even though he cheated his way into winning. Really now? The blades of your scissors pop out of that hand formation that looks oddly like a rock?

The movie was pretty good. I like scary movies, even though I'm a baby during them. Corny and cheap graphics, but had some good (if predictable) shockers and silly moments. Alison Lohman, the main actress, reminds head to toe, of a girl I worked with last summer. Pencil skirt and all.

Just some images of street writing. Chow.

Day 13

Woohooo! Lucky number.

So this morning I woke up with an unbelievable amount of anger. Like the anger I felt during high school, just this seething-emo  "I'm so pissed at this world" anger. Hoping that those days were gone, I just went back to bed, a coping mechanism. Haha, I woke up again in a few hours and woke up in a nicer and happier mood.  :)

I went running shortly thereafter. I accomplished a small personal goal of mine, which was to run to Golden Gate Park, which is 2.2 miles away. So I took the picture above, nothing high-class but still a happy day. On my jog back I was able to get some of my thoughts straight (a 4.4 mile run is pretty long..) and I got myself perked up again, shot a little determination into my viens. So hopefully something magical happens..

Anyways, I'm hyped up from my run. No more games (figuratively and literally), time to buckle down and stop waiting for my life to happen, and actually make it happen.

Learned the words: Tignon (headscarf) and Diorite (dark rock rich in plagioclase and little quartz) today. Yes education.

Question: Why do the majority of Anne Rice's reviews for "Interview with the Vampire" have the word "erotic" in them.... ? From my experiences.. nothing erotic about coagulated blood.

Day 12

Woah its been two weeks already... Haha and I have *nothing* to show for it. eh..

Anyways, trying to catch back up so this is going to be a dizzying rushhhhh. I went to watch UP with a friend of mine. I recommend it... Recommend it like breathing. Pleasant and slightly necessary for life.

After the movie finished, I walked out of the theater and some slightly creepy man smiles and me and asks me what I thought of the movie. I smile politely and tell him that it was amazing. He nodded and I walked away to continue with my life. But the rest of the group behind me had stopped moving as I had edged away. After some bustling, one of the girls, a friend of a friend, went back and went back to the guy. Turns out it was the director of UP. The executive producer was there also and after a few pleasantries, we were able to get a photo. Will come up as soon as I get it.

Question: Why do the city kids get chances like that....? The only people going to Utah (where I'm from) are stumbling and recovering acholics/druggies going to rehab.

Day 11

I did absolutely nothing today.... I sleep on the couch in the living room that attaches to the kitchen which attaches to the door that leads to the hallway which leads to the glass and steel doors that lead to a normal and healthy life.

Picture of the UN country pillars and City Hall.

I stayed in my pajamas till 2pm, then got ready for a few hours. I finally was ready to live my life by around 5pm. 5 hours later... I got into my pajamas without ever having to leave the room. Twas a sad sad day.

Question: Is fresh air over rated..

Day 10

Jogging pictures, and picture from the Prop 8 rally. Too bad California now sucks in more in one ways.

Some creeper pictures. But to defend myself a little bit, I think its that these pictures are interesting. They are seeing something through their lenses and I am seeing them capture these images. I take this shot knowing full well that I'm in public and being seen doing so. A jumping perspective.

Job searching currently a hot mess. I hear from Lucky Brand Jeans tomorrow and I had a phone interview with a law agency.

Day 9

Was supposed to go to SF Carnival today, but was too caught up in something else. Afterwards though, I walked around for a couple hours and took some pictures I thought were interesting/funny.

Had to eat by myself at a cafe, since I have no friends, haha but that's alright. Caught up with a friend on the phone.

This man literally was walking down the street with this outfit. The group in front of me asked to take a few shots of him. So naturally, being the creeper that I am, I took pictures of them taking pictures of him. Sneaky.

Some street art as well from my jog.... I also promise to be more interesting soon.

Day 8

Here is my day in pictures. Slash, didn't feel like writing.

The car garage. The garage works by you pressing a button, the contraption then proceeds to deliver you the car from the many levels.

IKEA. Nuf said.

The movie theater was a hollowed out building. Probably the snazziest little AMC I've ever been in.

Star Trek was AMAZING. Plus it doesn't hurt to have so many attractive people/alien races too look at. ;)

Day 7

Sadly, only one thing of note happened today. I got an interview!!! Here are just a few shots of car art I took on my jog.

With Lucky Brand Jeans. Haha.. Hopefully it goes well, so I can focus more on finding a job that can help me grow a healthy resume.

The multitude of jobs that I have recently applied to:

- Lucky Brand Jeans
- Federal Reserve of San Francisco
- Express
- A burger joint
- A sustainable architectural firm
- PetCo as a directors intern
- PetCo as a sales associate
- A countless amount of other jobs.

Question:
Whats your favorite color? Haha... baseless, tasteless, and deeply insightful question to be sure.

Day 6

So I had a good fulfilling day. Literally walked around San Francisco Metro and Berkeley with a packet of resumes in hand, just giving them out like candy. I may have lost my dignity then.. but hopefully in exchange for a job :)

I went to the Westfield mall and applied for jobs. But there is a definite difference when you walk into Banana Republic and Hot Topic. Obviously, I didn't match the clothing of either. I feel like to make an effective statement, I would have needed to go back to my apartment every single time. Oh well, judge away bitches. You stud-marked, tattoo-filled woman with neon pink hair and in collusion, you stuffed-up, wool-infected, and decorative scarft man. I wear whats in my closet.

Crazy things I saw:

- An ass-crack showing shirtless elderly man, yelling at woman who had a dog the size of my shoe, screaming "Get those f#$^$#! animals out of here!!!"

- A car more expensive than my house

- A man who offered to play street chess with me... then proceeded to bet me $5 that he could win.  (offer not accepted)

Question: Is it better to have the mindset that money is money, that it comes and goes, and whats most important now is experience? Or is being financially stable always the goal?

Day 5

So I just realized that I haven't shown you guys where I'm staying. Well here it is, a beautiful and cozy little flat in San Francisco metro. I'm staying with my uncle and his wife. I actually never told him directly that I was going to be staying with him actually, I just told my parents who told him.... and now here I am.

The funny thing is that as soon as I arrived, my uncles wife's friend (who had been staying with her for the past two months), left to go to Boston. But she arrived today .... which is awkward because there is only one couch. Does she want to cuddle with me?

I'm still torn on what to take... Arabic? - $2,900 or French - $1,600. The price tag doesn't really matter because they are all loans but eh...

In other news, I saw a man pee in public. But just to make sure no one saw his goodies. He peed into his right palm... and let it trickle down, classy.

I need to get a job.
To be rich....

Question. If you could be rich, would you rather have won a lottery giving you that money, or worked your way for 15 years?

Day 4

Walked around a lot today :)  You know... only a good 4-5 hour walk around the city. I was able to go to Haight St, Castro, the Civic center, and basically all of Market. (lie I know, but I like to make myself feel better yah know)

Here are just a few things that I thought were mildly interesting.

Day 3

First off, I'm filing this under yesterday, but its today, but whatever. You can deal. So yesterday I was able to go to the beautiful the central library of San Francisco. . I'm a really big fan of modern architecture, the shapes, lines, and subtle color wheel always does it better than some gravedigging neoclassical shit.

After a quick and cheesy photo-op, I headed down the Berkeley. I was able to find myself a place to live if I chose to, but it still comes down to the fact that I don't have a job currently and money doesn't appear out of nowhere... Though my credit card would like to say otherwise. After that I headed over to the a quaint little bookstore, where I bought two books to read and coffee shop where I phoned a good friend of mine.

I'll be reading Walden, circa too long ago. Its a good bedtime story. Some middle-aged man's adventures in the wilderness alone.... and the delivery gal comes by and...... then it turns into a porn book. Eh. I need adventure in this damn town. Lets make it happen.

Anyways, I have to start my day. JOGGING! I need better things to do. Help me out aye? After my jog, I'm going out with a book one hand and apathetic determination in the other.

Things to accomplish:
- Jog
- Figure out classes
- Figure out job
- Figure out place to live
- Read

I'll let you know later what I do.

Question of the day. What are some things that I HAVE to do here in San Francisco?

Day 2

Day 2

So I had a nice little surprise today. I woke up unnaturally around 7 am (backward time change of 3 hours), and I decided to take advantage of it so I went jogging.

A few blocks into it I noticed a woman with a pink thong, matching bejeweled bra, a white cape ... and giant pink fairy wings. Now mind you, I've been to cities before, but still a little jarring. As I kept going on, sending that image to the back of my mind, attributing it to a morning stumble home after an amazing Saturday night. However, a few blocks later I saw Wilma Slaghoople and Betty Rubble (matching hairtie included). Sadly enough, I didn't have a chance to ask to take thier picture, but life goes.

Turns out its San Francisco's annual Bay to Breakers marathon. Now mind you all, I only a camera phone to take pictures but its worth taking a google look at festivity that is this footrace.

Imagine:

Daylight + Alcohol + Halloween + Walking.

What do you get? Only one of the greatest sights I have ever seen. Haha. Google image results posted for visuals sake.

I was able to go watch them later at Golden Gate Park later that day, but seeing as how I was not with dress code and lack of standards, I left a while later. I ended up going to a much quieter and family-friendly park. Note the little league practice in the far distance. There I did some light job searching, but the lack of electricity eventually forced me out.

Rest of the day was less eventful, ended up watching television and stuck to my computer more than I wanted. There's tomorrow to cover my tracks.

One of the greatest amazements today was when I encountered an older man, completely naked. Now, as an older gentleman, he didn't have much to show body wise, but he looked completely relaxed. As if he was wearing a three-piece wool suit. I found this very inspring, he obviously was at a point in his life when he was comfortable with his body, and a passerby aptly mentioned that when he grew old, he would do the same. So my question I guess is then:

When you grow old, would you show off you tatas as a sign of confidence, or keep them safe as a sign of dignity? Are they even independent of one another?

Day 1

Day 1

So it’s the first day. Back is weary from lugging around a huge backpack all day. Do you ever get the feeling, after waking up during your flight, and you shift, and a million bones pop in your back? Or is that just me… Anyways, I’m here now waiting for my flight. That empty time you have to burn in between flights. Perusing through the unending amounts of magazine, cellpod, and shot glass stands. Buying some slightly, and by slightly, I mean morbidly overpriced food. Really now? 9 dollars for a burger? But back to my point It’s (going) to be my first day of summer!! Started a little pretty chill, got a little rough in the middle, and now I’m here.. eating a 5 dollar platter of French fries...

I don’t know what I’m talking about, I need to hone exactly what I’m talking about. I’m not too amazing of a writer but I need to work on it. Biting my nails again…

I need to find something new to talk about. Goal for the summe? Fall in love. Hahah. Sad now but you never know. I’m a romantic at heart with a little too much memory to be good for me. This blog should be more than a catharsis. I want to make something of my time. There are so many people here just sitting, staring at magazines, or staring into space. I want to be productive with my time. Oh! Number one thing that I will avoid. The television. Only because I know myself and I would just stare at it and waste my life away.

So friends I’m going to be time travelling back in time. 3 hours. See you on the other side.

I also need to find a job.

And a volunteering thing

I need to be busy!

Woah, ramp is closed because of lighting.

Maybe one day I will escape from this airport. But until then. Zeus one. Washington airport a soggy zero.

***

Alright friends, just got to the place where I will be spending my nights for a few weeks. Took a few hours of sitting in the tarmac but I’m here now, just putting this up now. Hopefully it all gets a little more structured soon J

Until then, I guess my question for you is this: So you know those little boxed food they give you during the flight, yah, the complementary food.  Should I really feel jealous when the two people around me got better packed lunches (aka variety) than I did? Is that normal? Slash…  what grown guy wants to eat applesauce?
